Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau is seeking a part-time Worship Leader for a contemporary service. While worship leadership experience is one factor in our search, we welcome applications from those who are committed to growing in this role as they grow and develop the worship experience. 

 

We seek someone who will bring a deep appreciation for the role that music plays in worship, familiarity with contemporary worship music and a readiness to explore a variety of worship music resources. The Worship Leader will work alongside the Pastor and others to plan worship and will organize rehearsals, schedule our musicians and invite more people to become involved with music and worship leadership. The ideal candidate will be able to add their skills as vocalist and/or guitarist to the worship experience. Experience or a desire to assist with worship audio and visuals is a plus. 

 

The Contemporary Worship Leader will sometimes be needed to assist in traditional worship leadership and to bring elements of contemporary worship to the traditional service throughout the year. The position will require about ten hours a week including Sunday morning worship. Additional time to plan and prepare for special services such as Christmas Eve and Holy Week are an expectation of the role.
